The Ladies Section consists of 50 members who always offer a warm welcome to lady golfers and non-golfers alike. Despite being small in number they can boast of being the second of only two Clubs in Wales to have had a Lady as Club Captain. Lady members are on an equal footing with their male counterparts and as such are able to vote on matters of club policy and take an active part in organising the social activities of the club.

Tuesday is Ladies Day where the 1st tee is reserved between 9 and 10 a.m. and priority given on 1st Tee throughout the day.  Ladies who work full-time are allowed to play LGU Medal competitions on the Saturday prior to the Tuesday.  In addition there are a number of Club competitions which are also played on Saturday, internal competitions against the Senior and Junior Sections and also Friendly matches with other Clubs. There are 2 Teams in the Glamorgan & Monmouthshire Ladies’ Golf League,  home matches being played on a Wednesday.

The Annual Open events begin with the Coffee Morning, scheduled early April, followed by the Open Day in July and the Members and Guest Day in September. The 1st Open Week is held in July, see Golf events for further details.

Popular events during the summer season are the Weekend Away golf trip and an Away Day, arranged by the Lady Captain, consisting of an 18 Hole competition followed by a presentation dinner.

The  Ladies also support the Club’s strong Junior Section and are fortunate to have several girl members who play regularly and have obtained LGU handicaps. They maintain close links with the South Wales Girls Golfing Association and have a lady member on that committee.

The Ladies will always welcome new members regardless of ability and in particular Junior Girls are encouraged to join the Section
